Background Information
The more the Empire tightened its grip on the people of the galaxy, the harder the Alliance fought to restore the Republic. Born shortly after Palpatine's transformation of the Old Republic into the Galactic Empire, the Alliance started as little more than a rag-tag group of freedom fighters woefully under-equipped to challenge an enemy as mighty as the Galactic Empire. The continued injustices of the Empire, however, brought many into the Rebellion's fold.
As it grew, so to did its arsenal. To combat the Imperial starfleet, the Alliance's hotshot pilots made do with battle-worn yet effective craft like X-wing and Y-wing starfighters. More Info
Unit Information
Hero Units
Obi-Wan Kenobi
A General during the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi has seen his share of war. He is one of the few Jedi left alive after the Great Jedi Purge and was forced into hiding on Tatooine, where he watched over Luke Skywalker.
Ground Units
Rebel Soldier
The freedom fighters of the galaxy, this ragtag group is not to be underestimaed. Formally they are organized into divisions, regiments, companies, platoons, and squads but, because of their low numbers, they operate in task forces.
Cold Assault Rebel Ranger
A variant of the Rebel Soldier, with gear more suited for cold climates.
Plex Trooper
Another variant of the Rebel Soldier, armed with a PLX-1 rocket launcher.
T4-B Tank
A treaded assault tank, that is sure to provide the Empire with great opposition.
T-47 Airspeeder
T-47 Airspeeders were modified to operate in a variety of environments, including snow, swamp, and sand. These modified Airspeeders are called Snowspeeders, Swampspeeders, and Sandspeeders, respectivly.
Space Units
Mon Calamari Liberty-class Starship
Longer, and more powerful than the MC80 Starship, this ship provides decent opposition to even a Star Destroyer. Her hangers are buried near wingroots providing excellent protection to launching starfighters.
Mon Calamari MC80 Starship
Mostly coverted Merchant vessels, these large ships are no match for an Imperial Star Destroyer. They make up for their lack of firepower with immense amounts of sheilding.
CR90 Corellian Corvette
Widely known as the Blockade Runner this nimble ship posseses the ability to break through an Imperial blockade. One of the more notable vessels of this type is Princess Leia's Tantive IV.
Nebulon-B Escort Frigate
Built for use by the Empire, the Rebel Alliance "liberated" some of these ships and put them to good use. Sometimes used as long-range scouts, search and rescue ships, or even mobile hospitals.
X-Wing Starfighter
Descended from the Z-95 Headhunter, the X-Wing Starfighter makes up the majority of the Rebel Fleet. Armed with four Taim & Bak KX9 laser cannons, and proton torpedo tubes.
Y-Wing Starfighter
Though less manueverable, it is much more durable than the X-Wing or A-Wing Starfighters. Armed with two laser cannons, two ion cannons, and two proton torpedo launchers.
A-Wing Starfighter
Designed to combat the TIE Interceptor this fighter is the smallest and fastest of all the fighters used by the Rebels. Though the A-Wing is no match for the TIE Advanced, it can still put up quite a fight.
